Doug Tennapel Hixon Bragg Comic artwork on display today! (April 28, 2012)

Doug Tennapel, creator of Earthworm Jim, Cat Scratch, and numerous other shows and comics will be displaying the largest amount of his work in 20 years. He’ll be showing his comic Hixon Bragg, which is his illustration thesis. It’ll be at Cal State Fullerton, 800 N.State Blvd, Fullerton 4-7pm, at the East Gallery. I’ll be there!

Eric Ryan, Senior Concept Artist from Sony, in the final part of his concept lesson from research to concept painting.

Michael Hampton’s Anatomy Workshop coming in May!

Michael Hampton, Author of the book, “Figure Drawing: Design and Invention” is doing a workshop with Andrew Cawrse called “Human Anatomy-Construction and Form”.  He has been teaching classes related to the figure for close to ten years, focusing on teaching anatomy and figure drawing in a way that is specifically tailored to students entering the fields of animation, illustration, and game art.

His book is being used as a reference for schools and studios alike.  (Blizzard is one of them!) Michael graduated Art Center College of Design with Honors, holds an MFA in Painting, and an MA in Art History. He has participated in both gallery and museum shows around the United States.

Here’s part III of Eric Ryan’s concept class. Eric Ryan is a senior concept artist at Sony Computer Entertainment and is also teaching Intro to Character and Creature Design at CGMA.
